These Violent Delights: A Romeo and Juliet Cabaret
Adapted by Kate Leslie Prop Theatre - Chicago, IL - Rhinofest 2018 "Adapted and directed by Kate Leslie, These Violent Delights incorporates pop and rock songs into a significantly cut down version of the script. Leslie combines characters and mashes up scenes to keep the pace moving between songs. Leslie finds the right songs for the moment... Smooth direction and passionate performances make this a lively, charming take on very familiar source material." The Chicago Reader |
The Lil' Amanda Show
by Amanda Card
Nashville, TN - Kindling Arts Festival 2019
"With The Lil’ Amanda Show, we’ll get the chance to see Card do all of the above in a play she wrote herself. It’s set in a little girl’s bedroom — Amanda’s bedroom, actually. The play is autobiographical. As an aspiring talk show host/actor/singer/dancer/playwright/soap-opera star, Lil’ Amanda has plenty of dreams, and the play is in part about the magical, hopeful world that children create for themselves. But it’s also about wrestling with trauma and grief before we even know what those words mean. Don’t miss this play."

Exit the Queen
by Derek Van Barham
Prop Theatre - Chicago, IL - Rhinofest 2016
Drawing inspiration from All About Eve and Ionesco's The Lesson, Exit the Queen explores the relationships between actor and director, teacher and student, and character and play. It examines the art of auditioning, and the act of attending the theatre. While paying homage to Ionesco's sense of humor and eye for detail, The Ruckus looks at why we begin to create and (more importantly) why we continue to do so. Must the show go on, even if we are ready to stop?
